Domaine Gaujal is owned by the Gaujal family since 1743.
This beautiful Estate is run now by Laurent Gaujal who succeeded his father Ludovic in 2013.

The entire vineyard covers 30 hectares, including 12 of Piquepoul, in the heart of Picpoul de
Pinet's appellation, on fairly flat grounds, very close to the Mediterranean.

Soil :
The local Piquepoul grape, on average 44 years old, is cared for the traditional way :
goblet pruning, ploughing of the soil.

The soil is calcareous clay with a very high percentage of pure limestone (54%).
This special feature may be described as the "secret" of Picpoul, as it gives it this very
personal flinty taste.
